Nigerian Visa Doesn’t List Blonde Hair Color Option

If you have blonde hair and you’re planning a trip to Nigeria, you may want to visit your colorist first. The online visa application doesn’t have “blonde” as an option for hair color.
No research turned up any answers, although I have sent an inquiry and will report back with any findings.
Either way, there is a PDF you can print off and write in your hair color. However, if you’ve ever filled out a visa application you know how long they can take and how easily they can be rejected. If you want to play it safe, your best bet is probably to stay within the lines — dye your hair and fill out the online form.
You won’t need special contacts though, blue is an option for eye color.
Thanks to Ashley S. for sharing this secret with me.

That’s funny! I don’t have blonde hair but my ex and my son do. We traveled through Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana and Togo for a month and then we lived in South Africa for 6–I don’t think we had that problem! My ex could have checked brown as his hair is dark, dirty blond, but my son’s hair is practically white. I just don’t think they see that all that often. When we were in Ethiopia, it was like paparazzi was everywhere flashing pictures of my then 3yo, white, blond boy!

I guess people from those countries would freak out if they came to the States and saw how many African-American women (and some men) have blonde hair. LOL
